Grants cannot be made to individuals. Employees and contractors of BPA are not eligible to receive funding. BPA customers are not eligible to apply directly for a grant.
EligibilityCommunity Innovation Grants may be awarded to 501(c)(3) public charities or government entities (including schools). Coalitions or collaboratives are eligible to apply, but only one organization may receive the grant. For organizations that do not have 501(c)(3) status, the Foundation accepts Community Innovation Grant applications from fiscal sponsors. The fiscal sponsor organization must submit the grant application and, if the grant is approved, becomes the grantee and receives the funds. Grants must be used for projects located in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota or the 23 Native nations that share the same geography. Grants must be used for a charitable purpose.

EligibilityEligible organizations include non-profit organizations, K-12 schools, and colleges/universities that are hosting summer activities for youth ages 5-18. Organizations must be based in the United States, and funds must be used in the United States. Service activities should take place between June 21, 2017 and September 15, 2017. Applications must be received by 5pm EST on Sunday, June 4, 2017, to be considered. YSA cannot send grant funds to an individual. Youth development organizations (like Boys and Girls Clubs, Girl Scouts, Camp Fire, etc.) are encouraged to apply. Regional councils are also encouraged to apply, and may use grant funds for one large project, or award mini-grants to local groups.
