Eligibility: The organization must be exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code and meet all eligibility guidelines as stated. Due to the number of applications received, status calls will not be accepted and we are unable to predetermine eligibility.
Purpose: The US Airways Education Foundation, Inc. Will Provide Grants Of $10,000 For Nonprofit Organizations With Educational Programs Located In And Providing Services Within The Major Metropolitan Area Of The Airline’s Hub Cities Of Charlotte (Mecklenburg County), Philadelphia (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, And Philadelphia Counties, Camden County, NJ And New Castle County, DE), Phoenix (Maricopa County) And Washington, D.C. (Arlington, Alexandria, District Of Columbia, And Montgomery Counties) That Meet At Least One Of The Following Criteria: Educational Programs That Focus On Learning And Academic Achievement For Economically Disadvantaged Children Age 18 And Younger. At Least 75% Of The Population Served By The Program Must Qualify For Free And Reduced Price Meals. Educational Programs That Focus On Learning And Academic Achievement For Developmentally Disabled Children Age 18 And Younger. O At Least 75% Of The Population Served By The Program Must Qualify For Special Needs Education As Defined By The Individuals With Disabilities Education Act. Programs That Increase Student Interest And Academic Achievement In Science, Technology, Engineering And Math (STEM) For Children Age 18 And Younger. Innovative, Evidence-based Programs Designed To Increase The Participation And Academic Achievement Of Students In STEM. At Least One Criterion Must Be Met And Justified In The Grant Application; However, Meeting More Than One Criterion Will Be Taken Into Consideration When Reviewing The Grant Application.
