Eligibility:
Eligible applicants for these grants are public or private non-profit agencies orĀ 
organizations including rural, urban, or Native American agencies that haveĀ 
previously served disadvantaged youth in a YouthBuild or other similarĀ 
program. These agencies include, but are not limited to:Ā 
ļ‚§ Faith-based and community organizations;Ā 
ļ‚§ An entity carrying out activities under the Workforce InvestmentĀ 
Act (WIA), such as a local workforce investment board orĀ 
American Job Center (formerly known as One-Stop CareerĀ 
Center);Ā 
ļ‚§ An educational institution, including a local school board, publicĀ 
school district, or community college;Ā 
ļ‚§ A community action agency;Ā 
ļ‚§ A state or local housing development agency;Ā 
ļ‚§ An Indian tribe or other agency primarily serving AmericanĀ 
Indians;Ā 
ļ‚§ A community development corporation;Ā 
ļ‚§ A state or local youth service conservation corps; orĀ 
ļ‚§ Any other public or private non-profit entity that is eligible toĀ 
provide education or employment training under a FederalĀ 
program.Ā 

Purpose:
YouthBuild grants will be awarded through a competitive process. Under thisĀ 
Solicitation for Grant Applications (SGA), DOL will award grants toĀ 
organizations to oversee the provision of education, occupational skillsĀ 
training, and employment services to disadvantaged youth in theirĀ 
communities while performing meaningful work and service to theirĀ 
communities.Ā 
Deadline: 04-22-2014
Award Max: $1,100,000.00
