Eligibility: Organizations who hold a 501©3 tax exempt status and have been operating as a 501©3 for a minimum of two years.

Organizations who are units of government under Section 170©(1), such as public schools, libraries, villages and municipalities.

Organizations must be located in one of the 16 Missouri or Illinois eligible counties below:

St. Charles
Washington
Lincoln
Franklin
Jefferson
Warren
Illinois:

Madison
St. Clair
Monroe
Macoupin
Jersey
Bond
Calhoun
Clinton

Eligible organizations include:

K-12 public school districts - Individual schools must apply through their School District office;

Members of a private school system e.g. Archdiocese School System, charter schools, K-12 independent or private schools with a substantial student population who are economically disadvantaged;

Nonprofit organizations that offer student educational enrichment programming or teacher professional development in science and/or math - All nonprofits working in schools must upload a completed Partnership letter.

Organizations applying for support must have been in operation for two or more years.

Are private or independent schools eligible to apply for this program?

Yes, private or independent schools may apply for this program, provided that

(a) Admission is open to all students in a given community, and

(b) At least 50 percent of the students served by the school qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch.
Purpose: The Monsanto Fund Wants To Do All It Can To Ensure That Students Excel In Math And Science.

We Support Programs That Inspire And Nurture Studentsí Interest In Math And/or Science, Offer Innovative Approaches To Teaching Or Learning In Math And Science, And Foster Student Achievement In Math And/or Science. Priority Will Be Given To Programs Using Evidence-based Methodology.

:
The average grant for Math and Science K-12 is $40,000. Monsanto Fund typically will not support grants that are larger than 25% of your organizationís operating budget. Please remember, grant requests of more than $10,000 require your organization to submit the most recent Audited Financials. If you do not have Audited Financials, the maximum grant you can apply for is $10,000.
