Community Innovation Grant

Eligibility: There are a few minimum requirements that organizations must meet in order to be eligible for a Community Innovation Grant:

1. Grants must be used for a charitable purpose.

2. Only organizations, not individuals, are eligible for the Community Innovation Grants. These organizations must be 501(c)(3) public charities or government entities (including schools). Groups of organizations (such as coalitions or collaboratives) are eligible to apply, but only one organization may receive the grant.

3. The Bush Foundation accepts Community Innovation Grant applications from fiscal sponsors. The fiscal sponsor organization must be the applicant organization and submit the grant application. Upon approval, the fiscal sponsor organization would become the grantee and receive the requested grant funds. 4. Grants must be used for projects located in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota or the 23 Native nations that share the same geography.
Purpose: We've Heard From Organizations Throughout The Region That Today’s Changing Community Needs And Complex Challenges Require New Thinking And New Approaches. However, The Day-to-day Pressures Of Work - Operationally And Financially - Make It Hard To Step Back And Engage The Community To Think Bigger And Think Differently To Create New Solutions To Community Problems. These Grants Are Designed For Organizations To Do Just That - To Lead The Process Of Creating A Community Innovation.
