We concentrate our regional grant making in the following states, with particular emphasis on the cities noted below. We encourage proposals for programs that serve multiple locations.

Ohio (Cleveland, Columbus)
Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, Pittsburgh)
Tennessee (Nashville, Memphis)
Texas (Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio)
Washington, D.C. (D.C., Baltimore, Md., Northern Virginia)
Our funding is restricted to nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) or similar tax-exempt status and educational institutions.
The Aetna Foundationís Regional Grants Fund Community Wellness Initiatives That Serve Those Who Are Most At Risk For Poor Health -- Low-income, Underserved Or Minority Populations. A Healthy Diet And Regular Exercise Can Help Prevent Obesity And Many Chronic Conditions. That's Why We Focus On Efforts That Promote Eating Fresh Fruits And Vegetables And Being Active.
Grants Will Target Communities Where Healthy Food Can Be Difficult To Buy, And Where Social And Environmental Factors May Limit Peopleís Ability To Be Physically Active.
Regional Grants Are Defined As:
