G2 Collective is applying for the grant as a small business. We are authorized to partner with and allocate funds to one or more K-12 schools in the public or private sector.
The purpose of the grant program is to stimulate technological innovation in the private sector, strengthen the role of small business in meeting ED research and development needs, increase the commercial potential of ED-supported research results, and improve the return on investment from Federally-funded research for economic and social benefits to the Nation. G2 Collective will provide participating schools with access to the new eTeach® Learning Content Management System and allocate resources to manage and support efficacy testing of the innovative technology within the schools. The Company will do the heavy lifting and will provide appropriate incentives for participating teachers and administrators.
Our efficacy testing during the grant phases will focus on the efficiencies eTeach® yields for teacher collaboration; especially in creating customized lesson plans and curricula which comply with individual state standards, including the common core state standards.
Phase I (six months) would involve testing approximately 2 or more schools and building the appropriate survey template to track the platform's effectiveness for these schools. Our company will manage the heavy lifting as far as initial curricula support goes by working directly with the teachers.
We do not want to put additional burden of work or cost on any school kindenough to participate, and we want to ensure that teachers are provided appropriate incentives to further test the lesson module and course building features of the platform.
The second phase would involve building out a public database library of tagged modules (lessons) for all districts. This would enable them to share and exchange modules. We would implement and test in this Phase in as many as 30-40 schools in multiple districts. Here the aim would be to test intra and inter district collaboration. Once again, our people would be monitoring and managing the process.
The efficacy testing will likely include the following objectives:
- Act as a tool for teachers to create Common Core Aligned content to help fill any gaps in current curricula during the transition to fulfill CCSS.
- Act as a tool for teachers to create Common Assessments to help transition to the PARCC.
- Encourage and increase teacher collaboration in content creation and management throughout the school, specifically with the eTeach® Platform’s unique module cloning and editing feature.
- Act as a tool to monitor student participation, progress and performance; providing data on what content is working and what can be improved.
