Teach Abroad Grant Be a U.S. citizen living in the U.S., District of Columbia or a U.S. territory or protectorate Be fluent in English Be a K-12 classroom teacher currently employed full-time* at an accredited school in the U.S., District of Columbia or a U.S. territory or protectorate Be a teacher of English as a Second Language or English Language Learners 3 years** minimum teaching experience at the time of application Travel Grant Be a U.S. citizen living in the U.S., District of Columbia or a U.S. territory or protectorate Be fluent in English Be a K-12 classroom teacher currently employed full-time* at an accredited school in the U.S., District of Columbia or a U.S. territory or protectorate 3 years** minimum teaching experience at the time of application *For the purpose of determining eligibility, "full-time" refers to applicants who are currently employed full-time by a school or school district. Teachers who hold a combination of part-time jobs which may add up to a full-time equivalent are not eligible. Applicants must spend at least fifty percent of their time teaching or working directly with primary or secondary level students. Primary and secondary level media specialists/librarians and guidance counselors, who teach students at least fifty percent of their time, may also apply to the program. **At the time of application, teachers should be in at least their third year of full-time teaching. Teachers must complete their third year of full-time teaching during the 2013-2014 school year in order to be eligible to apply. Teachers who are in their second year (or less) of full-time teaching at the time of application are not eligible.

This Program Allows U.S. Primary And Secondary Level Teachers To Go Abroad For 2-3 Weeks To Travel Or Teach, Explore And Experience Culture Firsthand During Their Summer Break. The Institute Of International Education (IIE) Administers The Hilton Worldwide Teacher Treks Program On Behalf Of Hilton Worldwide. As Nurturers Of Future Generations Of Travelers, Teachers Play An Important Role In Spreading Understanding Of Other Cultures And Can Have A Profound Impact On Their Students' Lives. Whether Analyzing A Historic Work Of Art Or Telling A Riveting Account Of An Ancient Civilization, Teachers Are The Ultimate Conduits To Cultural Enlightenment.
