PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS APPLICATION MUST BE FILLED OUT BY THE JUVENILE COURT, WHICH IS TO BE THE LEAD AGENCY ON THIS PROJECT. IF YOU ARE NOT THE JUVENILE COURT, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR JUVENILE COURT AND HAVE THEM FILL OUT THE APPLICATION IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR THIS PROJECT.

Purpose:
He NCJFCJ Will Provide Training And Technical Assistance To Help Judicial Leaders Develop Efforts To Reduce Referrals Of Youth To Juvenile Courts For School-based Misbehaviors And To Expand The Use Of Positive Disciplinary Practices In Schools. The NCJFCJ’s Goal For This Project Is To Support Student Engagement And Reduce The Exclusion Of Youth From Schools. The NCJFCJ Will Select 16 Sites For This Project To Receive Training And/or Technical Assistance And At Least Onsite Visit To Convene Court & School Personnel And Stakeholders To Address School Pathways To The Juvenile Justice System. Site Recruitment Will Begin In July 2013 And Will Continue Through The End Of 2014, Unless All Sites Are Selected Prior To That Date. NCJFCJ Is Intending To Select A Diverse Group Of Sites, Geographically Located Across The U.S. NCJFCJ Is Seeking Jurisdictions Experienced With Court Collaborations, That Have An Active Stakeholder Team, And Have A Working Relationship With Their School Partners.
