All K-12 public and private schools in the United States and Canada are eligible. Examples of efforts that have been recognized:
A collaborative school-wide project involving the art, music, physical
education and computer teachers (Winter Park Elementary School, 2011 winner)
Improving student research skills using authenticated, credible websites
(Patrick F. Taylor Science and Technology Academy, 2011 winner)
Integrating digital curriculum with Google Docs (Skyline High School,
2011 winner)
A collaborative school-wide project involving the art, music, physical
education and computer teachers (Winter Park Elementary School, 2011 winner)
Improving student research skills using authenticated, credible websites

Purpose:
The Gale/Library Media Connection TEAMS Award Recognizes And Encourages
The Critical Collaboration Between The Teacher And Media Specialist To Promote Learning, Increase Student Achievement And Develop 21st Century Skills.
Three Winners Will Receive: $2,500 (U.S.) Cash Award; Gale Products
(approximate Value $500); A One-year Subscription To Library Media Connection; And A Choice Of Professional Publications From Linworth Books (approximate Value $800). Winners Will Also Be Featured In A Library Media Connection Article.
A Panel Comprised Of Education Industry Professionals And Staff From Gale And Library Media Connection Will Evaluate The Nominations Based On:
Demonstrated Collaboration Between Media Specialists And Teachers
During 2011-2012 Or 2012-2013 School Years
Effective Techniques That Positively Impact Student Learning And
Achievement (based On State And National Standards)
Support Received From School Leadership
Ability For Others To Replicate This Best Practice
