Beyond Words: the Dollar General school library relief fund

The sponsor requires that BOTH of the following are met:

Must be a public school library - PreK-12.
Must be located within 20 miles of a Dollar General store, distribution center or corporate office. Please visit the store locator section of the Dollar General website.
as well as ONE of the following:

Within the past 36 months must have lost its building or incurred substantial damage or hardship due to a natural disaster (tornado, earthquake, hurricane, flood, avalanche, mudslide), fire or an act recognized by the federal government as terrorism;

Has absorbed a significant number (more than 10% enrollment) of displaced/evacuee students.
Additional qualifications for conderation of a catastrophic award include:

90% or greater loss to the school library program. If awarded a $50,000 catastrophic grant, recipient is required to provide documentation of loss

Grants Will Be Awarded To Public School Libraries That Have Incurred Substantial Damage Or Hardship Due To A Natural Disaster (tornado, Earthquake, Hurricane, Flood, Avalanche, Mudslide), Fire Or An Act Recognized By The Federal Government As Terrorism. The Goal Is To Provide Funding For Books, Media, And/or Library Equipment That Support Learning In A School Library Environment. The Impact Can Be Through Direct Loss Or Through An Increase In Enrollment Due To Displaced/evacuee Students.
